Vi Spring melford superb advice

I am looking for a new mattress for my 10 year old sleigh bed. I am 6'1" and 90kg my wife is 5'8" and about 58kg although so is expecting a baby in the new year.
We have been to John Lewis on Oxford street and were a bit lost, we both liked the firm mattress' how ever this may have been because so many people had been sitting on them, to be honest I didn't really want to touch them myself as they were so dirty.
We both quite liked the Vi spring Melford Superb, but didnt try any more expensive as I thought over £2.5k was enouth to spend on a mattress. do you have any thoughts on what in your range we should be looking at.

The Vi Spring Melford mattress that you have tried in John Lewis, actually has a similar feel to our Artisan Bespoke 004. This mattress has a medium feel in the upholstery layers making the feel of the mattress neither too soft nor too firm.

A pocket sprung mattress is made up of two parts. The springs are there to give you support and at your body weights, I would recommend a medium spring tension. The upholstery layers are there to give you the comfort and as explained above, the upholstery layers in this mattress will also give you a medium feel.

If however you do prefer a mattress that is firmer in the upholstery layers, then you would need to look at our Artisan Bespoke. This mattress has the firmest upholstery layers of all our Artisan mattresses.
However if you are both side sleepers, we would not recommend sleeping on a mattress that is too firm in those top layers as this can create pressure point pain in shoulders and hips.
