Before being able to confirm whether you are best suited to a soft tension mattress, I would need to know your body weight(s). The usual maxim is that the more springs you have the firmer a mattress is likely to feel, although the firmness may be reduced by the application of sumptuous layers of upholstery. I note that you have not advised what size mattress you are looking for and for clarity, I would advise that 1000 springs in a standard king size is sufficient to provide support for people of average body weights.
