Divan replacement, headboards, Hypnos

You mentioned in a reply in the FAQ about someone not having to replace an 8 year old divan base. We currently have a 10 year old Hypnos serenade medium mattress and sprung edge divan base which we are looking to replace and were considering the Artisan range. The base has not had any misuse and looks okay so I'm not sure how we would know if it needs replacing or not. Could you offer any advice?
Also if you have any details on the Hypnos do you know which mattress would be the closest match as we like the current feel. We were looking at the Bespoke or Luxury options. We are 83kg and 70kg.
I know you don't take old beds away but are the fitters able to move the old bed downstairs and out to a garage so we can get the council to dispose of it?
In respect of headboards the height was mentioned in one of the answers on he website as 48 inches. Is this total height of the headboard or the height from the ground to the top of the headboard when fitted. If the former how high will the top of the headboard be from the ground once fitted.

Thank you for your question.
We are unable to suggest a comparison to any Hypnos product as the details of the construction and upholstery are not very detailed, particularly in terms of GSM (grams per square metre) of the upholstery. Certainly, neither the Artisan Bespoke or Luxury are comparable in terms of the upholstery and each has a specific feel with the Luxury having very soft top layers and the Bespoke having firmer top layers.
With your particular body weights, I would suggest that you opt for a medium spring tension, but you need to discuss your preferred feel with us in order for us to make a specific recommendation in the Artisan range.

As far as your base is concerned, unless you have serious dipping issues and there doesn't appear to be any dips or lumps, there is no reason to buy a new base at the same time as your mattress. Some retailers will tell you that you need to buy both at the same time, but this is merely so the price paid creates a larger commission for the salesman.
With the Artisan headboards the overall height from the bottom of the base to the top of the headboard is 48" with the padded area above the mattress being 24". I trust that this helps and we look forward to hearing from you by phone in order that we can make a more specific recommendation.
