Re. my question, I have recently purchased the above Octaspring (not yet delivered) for my elderly basic king size pine bed. It has solid flat slats but despite assurances that it will be suitable for this new mattress I am somewhat concerned, belatedly, it may not feel as comfortable as it did in the shop where l tried it on a divan base, and so now l'm looking to buy a new bed as well. From what I've read it sounds like a sprung edge divan would be a good option. I have chronic back problems, osteoarthritis and am a side sleeper, so a 'soft feel' is rather important though at the same time the base needs to have a decent support. I am 13 stone and 5'5". Unfortunately money is an object, especially since the mattress was rather expensive and l would need to go for something in your basic divan range. What would you recommend?
