A customer asked

Hi there,
First of all, i wanted to congratulate you on creating an aesthetically beautiful and fantastically informative website!
Beforehand, i think i was more or less poking around in the dark, so thank-you for turning on the lights.
I have always believed getting a good mattress is extremely important and for that reason i have been looking into yours. There were a couple of questions i had after browing for a while...
- Would there be a specific mattress (or firmness etc) you would recommend for me.
I am 6'2" and 12 stone and my girlfriend is 5'8" and approx. 9.5 stone.
- What is the difference between bonnel coil and pocket sprung unit?
Thanks very much for your time!

Hi Jamie,

Thank you for your compliments in respect of our site and for your enquiry. It is very satisfying for us to know that people are finding our site useful when trying to decide upon their next mattress purchase.

Having regard for your particular body weights, we would suggest that you require a medium spring tension/feel mattress. The differences between the types of spring used in mattresses are detailed in the attached article, which refers to bonnel coil as a cage spring, which in essence are cheaper than pocket springs and do not offer the same level of support that pocket springs do.

We make two ranges of pocket sprung mattresses, the Origins range, which has synthetic upholstery and the Artisan range with natural upholstery and without knowledge of your budget, we will not make a specific recommendation. Having said that, please view the Origins Pocket 1500 and the Artisan Naturals, both of which are the best sellers in their respective ranges. The Origins will provide an overall feel from the set medium spring, whereas the Artisan can have the spring tension selected to suit, as described above.

We trust that the above is of assistance to you, but if you require anything further, please call our office on 0161 437 4419, kind regards.
