The first thing to say is that it is not possible for us to advise an equivalent mattress in our ranges to the Vi-Spring Elite as the description of this product lacks any specific detail in respect of the GSM (grams per square metre) of the upholstery. We do note that it specifies that the Elite has a ten year structural guarantee, which may be worth investigating. With proper care an attention, including regular turning, we would expect a quality mattress, such as the ones made by Vi-Spring, to last well in excess of the ten year guarantee period.

We do make some models in our Artisan range (natural upholstery), which are comparable in feel only to some Vi-Spring models and a schedule detailing these is attached here. All our Artisan models which are comparable to Vi-Spring come with a 10-year guarantee, although as stated above, with proper care and attention, we would expect them to last well beyond this.

With your particular body weights we would suggest that a medium spring tension would be most appropriate and we certainly would not put your wife on a firm tension mattress.
