My husband now suffers from lumbar disc issues & altho we have always found a ortho sprung divan bed the best option for us we now feel a more pressure responsive mattress might be better. He weighs 13 stone & is a back sleeper & I weigh 9 stone & sleep on my side. Historically we both have preferred a firm bed but when on holiday recently slept very comfortably (& for him pain free) in a softer feel bed...unsure what the mattress type was though!
