Spink and Edgar in John Lewis

A customer asked

Hi I was wondering what you think of the John Lewis "own brand" mattresses (made by Spink and Edgar, I believe). In particular the "Premier" range?

We've tried them out in a local store, and the Premier 2 seemed quite comfortable (1&3 were too soft). Are they worth the money?

We need to replace a 25 year old Myers orthopedic mattress (yes I know it is ancient!), and I was suprised to find that several others of the mattresses we've tried out in shops were *less* comfortable than our worn out one :) .

Hi Julian,

Thank you for your question on our website.  As you are no doubt aware, there are no details in the specifications of this mattress....' upholstered with layers of cotton and polyester, to provide a traditional firm comfort feel.'  Without knowing how much (GSM - grams per square meter) they have used I couldn't say if it was worth the money or not as you don't know what you are paying for.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Without knowing your body weights, preference in feel and budget it would not be possible to make a recommendation from any of our ranges.  If you would like to call the office on 0161 437 4419 with this information for a detailed recommendation.

Kind Regards
