Ottoman Base - Storage Lid
I was marvelling at my friends new John Ryan mattress and Ottoman base when he mentioned that the only downside is when the mattress is removed for turning purposes the Ottoman lid springs up due to no weight being on it. Can anything be done to stop this only I love the idea of the Ottoman base but as a single person turning the mattress is difficult enough on its own without trying to fight with a lid which will not stay closed?
Hi Tina,
There is no reason to completely remove the mattress when turning it over. If you pull the mattress towards you off the base and then flip it over this would not cause the lid to spring open.
ue to the amount of upholstery layers we cram into our mattresses they do tend to be heavier than most manufacturers. Our Ottoman base is designed to lift our mattresses so the gas struts need a higher newton rating. If turning a mattress is a problem the answer may be that a zip and link mattress, available in king size and above, would be a solution. This way you can turn the mattress one side at a time.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
