My ottoman bed wont stay open it closes slowley on its own can it be fixed?

Thank you for your question.
The weight of the mattress on top of the Ottoman base is supposed to keep the lid of the base closed. In order to keep the lid open you must ensure that you push the lid up high enough for the gas struts to lock in to place.

If you have tried this and the lid still wont stay open it may be a problem with the gas struts which may need replacing.

One of the struts on my ottoman bed has snapped / come away from.thr side of the base of my ottoman bed, can this be replaced or fixed easily. Can I do this myself. How much would a new strut cost

Thank you for you comment. Which type of gas strut does your ottoman base have? There are two types, hinge or piston. Both are attached to the base and the lid and are easily removed.
You can purchase replacement gas struts from a number of suppliers and sites like Amazon and eBay. Measure your struts to make sure you get the right size. Check the newtons of your gas struts and purchase the same so that the lifing will be even.
