Divan base for sleigh bed

We have a sprung divan which rests on a central strut across the bed and on the perimeter of the inside of the bed frame. Do your divans work for this - without casters or legs - as the divan is essentially resting in the frame and not on the floor.

Hi Andrew,

Thank you for your enquiry, this is not something that I have been asked before.  Placing a base on a sprung slatted base would not be very stable, maybe if you boarded over the slats giving a uniform surface for the base to sit on, but even then I am not sure it would work.

The height of our bases are 12 or 13 inches, this would make your bed very high.  The Contemporary platform base and the Artisan sprung base can be made at a reduced height for an additional cost of 10%.  The shortest height we can make these bases is 6 inches. These are constructed from Canadian Spruce which is a hardwood and maybe too heavy for the sleigh bed especially with the added weight of your mattress.

I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
