Over time toppers will lose their height and softness as they naturally compress and settle. This is especially true of softer synthetic fillings and even natural wool to a degree.

This is why toppers should always be separate and turnable. Never stitched to the top of a mattress like pillowtop trends. This means you can shake and flip the topper to help keep its loft and replace it when the time comes.

Our 100% Natural Latex topper would be fine for your Duxiana bed and would provide a soft feel to the top layer. Its tape edged so looks very much like a mini hand made mattress. It sits directly on top and is held in place by your sheets.
