Louise

Hi,

Understand you are using plant based fire retardants on your artisan ranges.
Just wondering what fire retardants you use on the pocket origins range?

Thanks Louise

Hi Louise,

Thanks for contacting us regarding the fire retardants used within the Origins Range of mattresses.

All of our mattresses have been tested and approved as being compliant under BS 5852: 1982 Part ll and BS7177.  Our beds have the following fire retardant application :-

All UK beds must have a fire-retardant layer or component, whether it is contained within the foam mix, sprayed on afterwards, mixed via graphite in Latex or a fire retardant cover i.e. wool or synthetic. This is to comply with British regulations (BS 5852: 1982 Part II & BS 7177).

The Origins Range of mattresses have covers which contain phosphorus and nitrogen which is much better than the usual formaldehyde which can irritate eyes nose and throat.

Can you buy a Mattress free from fire retardant in the UK?
