It is not possible to establish what make or type of mattresses are used in Novotels, so making any recommendation or comparison is impossible.

From what you have said about backache occurring, I would think that this is likely to be caused by your current mattress being too firm for you both.

I note that you are interested in a pillow top mattress, but would advise strongly against such a purchase as these type of mattresses have an inherent flaw in that once the pillow top has flattened, which it will do over time, the whole mattress will need to replaced. Additionally, this type of mattress is one sided, which also impacts on the longevity of the mattress.

Given your allergies, I would suggest that you look at our Origins Pocket 1500 in a Zip and Link set. In this form you could have one side with 1500 springs, providing a medium feel for your body weight and 2000 springs on the other side providing a similar feel for your partner.
