Regarding the use of a mattress topper with a pillow top mattress
My pillow top mattress is sagging in the middle. Can I put a mattress topper on top of the pillow top mattress or will that be too much?
Hi Tracy,
Thank you for your question.
The application of a topper is unlikely to provide any resolution to the sagging as it will only dip into the area which has sagged. Unfortunately this is one of the problems than arises with a mattresses/" title="pillowtop">pillowtop due to the fact that as the topper is attached to the mattress, once that develops a fault, there is nothing that you can do to resolve this.
Just like a one sided mattress, you will be unable to turn it so when the pillowtop layer becomes indented and worn, you will eventually have to replace the entire mattress even though the spring support will be sufficiently OK.
I hope this assists but please do not hesitate to contact our office should you require further information or advice.
Kind regards Julie
