I am 60yrs old, 5 feet and weigh about 8st 9lbs. I have rheumatoid arthritis which can cause me pain when lying in bed. I currently have a 2000 pocket sprung mattress which is firm (but sagging in the middle). I use a topper to provide softness. I want a good supportive mattress that feels very soft and have an iron, wooden slatted bed. I love all the info on your site but am still not sure which mattress I should buy. I also wondered if you have a showroom on your site in Manchester? Thank you,
Best wishes

Hi Helen,

I would not normally advise someone of your body weight to go for a mattress containing 2000 springs, as this is likely to provide too firm a feel.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Please view the details of our Origins Comfort 1000 or Origins Pocket 1500.

The Origins Comfort will provide support from the springs and the comfort is provided by the upholstery layers. The Origins Pocket 1500 on the other hand is likely to provide an overall medium feel.

If your budget permits, please view the Artisan Naturals, which can be made with a soft. medium or firm spring tension to suit personal preference.

Once you have viewed these products, please call our office for more specific advice as to the suitability of these products for you.

Kind Regards Gary
