Divan base for Vi-spring Classic Bedstead mattress
Can you please tell me how your Artisan base compares with the Vi-spring divan bases ie the standard and prestige versions? I have a classic bedstead mattress on a solid slat base and am thinking that the base is making the mattress (medium tension) too firm for me. I weigh 9.5 stone and realise I should have probably gone for a soft mattress ( I was not aware of your company at that time!). So I am hoping to find a way of making the mattress feel a bit more "giving" or "responsive" as I have back problems. Could you please tell me how many pocket springs are in the artisan base and whether it is possible to upgrade the 'fillings/coverings' to make it as comfortable as possible?
Many thanks
Hi Prue,
Thanks for your question.
We are unable to compare directly as we construct in different ways.
Vi-Spring tend to construct using sprung edge (springs running right to the edge).
We ourselves construct using true edge (a firm piece of wood around the outside edge).
Our Artisan sprung base will add extra support to the mattress but will also give the mattress a slightly softer feel. If you need to make the mattress a bit more of a responsive feel then the Artisan Base will do that over a solid platform top base such as our Contemporary Platform Divan Base (where the mattress is made to feel slightly firmer).
A King Size Artisan Base has 1000 pocket springs inside it.
You, unfortunately, cannot alter anything inside our Artisan Base.
I hope this has answered your questions fully but if you do have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, Lee.
