Which Artisan mattress suitable

Hello. I'm interested in your Artisan mattresses, but am unsure which mattress tension would be suitable for me. I am 9 and a half stone and my current bed is too firm for me. I am worried that if I get a Soft tension mattress it might be too soft for me, coming from a less giving mattress. However, if I used the platform base from my current bed, might this make the Soft mattress a little 'firmer' or would it spoil the mattress because I wouldn't be using a sprung base? I'd be grateful for your advice. Many thanks.

Hi Alex,

For people under 10 st we would normally recommend a soft spring tension.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

If you were to place such a mattress on a platform base, this would have the effect of making it slightly firmer.

There is no reason why an Artisan mattress cannot be used with a platform base save for the fact that it will have that firming effect.

I trust this helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards Gary
