A customer asked

HiI am 5' 10" and 11 St 7lb, my wife 5' 4" and 9 St 3lb.We are both side sleepers and prefer a softer feel bed, but don't want a canoe / saggy feel of softer beds we have had in the past, nor the hard mattresses you get under the soft pillow-top mattresses once the soft outer layer has compressed!! I get hip / shoulder pains on firmer beds, and have experienced lower thoracic pains on really 'wallowy' / saggy beds.We have tried the Vi-Spring Tiara Superb in Medium today, and both thought it was a comfortable bed with good support, but didn't have a soft enough feel (by a very small margin). However, as a non-expert, I'm not sure whether this was because we need a softer spring, or a softer, more comfortable outer layer. So, looking on your website you have 2 x beds that seem to fit the bill. Bespoke 002 and Artisan Luxury. Bearing in mind my comments and our size and weights, which bed would fit our needs, and what tension would you recommend for us.

Hi Gary,

With your particular body weights, I would suggest that you opt for a medium spring tension.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

As far as the two models you refer to are concerned, the Artisan Luxury has the softer upholstery layers and is the softest in feel within our Artisan range. The Artisan Bespoke 002 has a more springy feel, even in a medium spring tension and this is because it has a double layer of springs and in terms of feel, this is more like the Vi-Spring Tiara.

I trust that this helps,
