Hi,
THIS REPLACES MY PREVIOUS QUESTION AS I THOUGHT OF ANOTHER REQUIREMENT!
We are a married couple in our late fifties. Please can you a recommend the most suitable mattress to meet the following requirements:-
1. I weigh 7 1/2 stone and my husband 12 stone 11 lbs.
2. I tend to get very hot during the course of the night. We treated ourselves to a 'luxury' memory foam mattress (Relyon from Bensons for Beds. It was a memory foam advanced 1250 pocketed sprung luxury Reacta Foam.) but I just didn't get on with it as I broke out in night sweats. Admittedly I was going through the menopause at the time which would've contributed to the night sweats but I was reasonably fine before with our old traditional mattress. So we swopped over to our sons cheapy mattress (Silent Night Miracoil) and I don't suffer nearly so much. I still get very warm though and we often only use a summer duvet for most of the winter months although my husband complains about it and has to have a blanket on top to keep him warm!
3. We have a sprung slatted king size bed frame.
4. I like to sleep on my side but often turn onto my back because my shoulders get uncomfortable. I also sleep on my front for short period of time. My husband sleeps on his side (as he snores when on his back!).
5. I'd prefer to have standard depth of mattress I.e approximately 22 cms deep.
6. Ideally price below £1000k but for right mattress would consider going higher.
7. I don't want to be aware of my husband getting in or out of bed in the middle of the night (our whole mattress bounces when he does that!)
I look forward to hearing from you.

Hi Caroline

Thank you for your question.

I would recommend that you take a look at the Artisan Naturals mattress in our range, this is just slightly over your budget for a kingsize mattress. This has 85% natural fibre fillings, which are the best fillings to regulate heat, and they create the coolest mattresses.

I would then say a soft tension spring for your half of the bed, and a medium tension spring for your husbands, this will then give you both the best support level for your body weights. The only problem I see with the Artisan range of mattresses is that they are much deeper than the 22cm you would like, they are more in the region of 27cm - 30 cm deep, this will reduce slightly over time as the fibres settle.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

If you require any further assistance please call the office.

Kind Regards Gary
