superking mattress and base selection

Looking to replace king size bed with memory foam mattress which is five/six years old. I have back problems ie sciatic nerve pain. When sleeping in hotels, which generally have super king size beds the pain is greatly reduced. (MacDonald Hotel and cruise ship beds). Studiying your website and looking to purchase from yourself can I supply the following information and ask for your opinion on what base, mattress should be best. Both my husband and myself are around the eleven stone marks give or take a few pounds. Height five feet six to five feet eight. Current mattress is too soft and too hot and is on a two drawer base which isnt sprung. Silent night is the make but dont have any more details. Thanks in anticipation. Can you also supply dimensions particularly the height as we have bedside cabinets headboards etc which we wish to retain.

From the information you have provided, I would suggest that you opt for a medium spring tension/feel mattress.
Unfortunately, memory foam is very heat retentive, which is why so many people are now looking to replace it with a pocket sprung and upholstered product.
I note that you have not provided details of your budget, so would initially suggest that you view the details of the Origins Pocket 1500, which is synthetically upholstered and will provide an overall medium feel and is paired with a platform topped base.
Alternatively, if your budget permits, please view the Artisan Naturals, Artisan Bespoke 004 and Artisan Bespoke all of which can have the spring tension selected as medium and all of which are upholstered in natural materials.
These mattresses are paired with a firm edge sprung base.
As far as dimensions are concerned, all the mattresses are approximately 12 inches deep and the bases with drawers are 13 inches plus 2 inches for the castors/glides, making an approximate overall height of 27 inches.
Please note that you can select a base with 4 drawers, 2 of which can be continental, which means that they start 17 inches out from the head end providing room for bed side cabinets.
