Differences between models
Im hoping you can help steer me in the right direction, ive had a look at your site now for quite a while, and also visited some high street shops.
Because of the quality and reviews of your products, if we decide we want a latex top id be ordering your Origins Pocket Latex 1500, but if we decide on a more traditional style mattress im wondering if you can help me with the differences between a few models and how they might feel different etc.
I think we would be looking at the Origins Pocket 1500, which is £570 in king size, and the Artisan 1500 which is £890, and the Artisan Naturals which is £1140, im wondering how these 3 may feel compared to each other, and anything else we should consider, as obviously their is a price difference but what benefits do the more expensive ones offer, etc
Im 14st, my wife is around 12st, im 6ft 1" and my wife is 5ft 9", in the shops the ones we have tried my wife tends to like something firmer than myself but i think we would both be happy with a medium/firm type feel
Thanks
Hi Martyn,
Thank you for your question.
The spring tension is where you get the correct level of support from within the mattress itself.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
At the body weights provided you both need a Medium spring tension. You then need to establish the correct comfort layer for you both.
The difference between the models then come from the top comfort layers.
Comfort is very personal; what is comfortable to one person isn't comfortable to another.
In our Origins range, the Origins Pocket 1500 is very medium feeling in it's comfort; i.e, it's not too soft nor is it too firm.
Our Artisan range are made from a differing level of natural fibres and materials so generally feel softer than our Origins range.
Our Artisan 1500 is firmer feeling in it's comfort layers whereas the Artisan Naturals is very medium feeling; i.e, not too soft or too firm.
Our Artisan models can be split into dual tensions meaning one half of the mattress can be soft and the other half can be firm. This is ideal for people where there is a substantial difference in body weights and one spring tension won't cover both users.
However, the difference in your body weights isn't substantial enough to warrant a split spring tension.
Often, people think that the more expensive a mattress the better it will be. This is just not the case. It's all about getting the correct mattress to cover all of your needs and requirements.
Whilst we don't offer a showroom of our own, our Artisan range is comparable to the Vi-Spring range that can be tested in any Furniture Village, House of Fraser, Harrods or And So To Bed store.
I would always recommend testing the range where you can to get a better feel for the differences between models.
I hope this has answered your question fully but if you have any further questions then please don't hesitate to call the office.
Kind Regards Gary
