Dunlopillo Millenium causing back pain, how do we proceed?

Geraint

Hello, We have a long and poor record with mattresses and nothing seems to have worked for us since a long gone Sealy Posturepedic, but it would be much easier to list the ones that we've not found to work for us - so many now and such a waste of time and money. The latest is a Dunlopillo Millenium and we had high hopes for that because we'd used one of the original latex Dunlopillo mattresses years ago and liked it - the new version just isn't in any sense like the old one. My wife can't stay in bed too long without back pain and although the Dunlopillo is marginally better for me than some of the others we are now deeply frustrated and checking about the zip and link options is our last hope. One question is how much changing one side would be after an initial purchase. Another is how to try to assess what combination of half-mattresses to consider. My wife's main problems are with her back, but one bed gave us both similar problems and little comfortable sleep. If we go back to ground zero how do you suggest we proceed? I've not long bought a Dunlopillo split base so I would want to try to retain and use that, so we'd be talking about yet another mattress is we do go for this again. Thank you

Hi Geraint

Thanks for your question,

It sounds like you aren't having the best experience, to say the least! I will try my best to point you in the right direction.

Based on the information you have provided the best place to start is with the springs. Your body will determine the spring tension. The springs are there to support your body weight whilst the comfort layers of the mattress are where you would look to achieve your desired preference based on your sleeping habits and personal preference. So if you were 8 stone looking for a firm mattress you would still be a soft spring tension. (As displayed by the chart below)

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

From there
Your sleeping habits/personal preference will then determine how you would like the mattress to feel in the comfort layers. This is where you will achieve the feel you are looking for (soft/medium/firm). Do you know if you have a preference for a soft, medium or firm?
If you do not, I would advise to go out and try the;

Vispring Devonshire - Soft in upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Luxury

Vispring Regal Superb - True medium in upper layers - Comparable with Artisan Bespoke 004

Vispring Herald - Firm in the upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Bespoke

I hope that helps and if you have any further questions please get back in touch on 0161 437 4419 or info@localhost.
