Recently had a FIRA tech report, can you advise about bases?

Recently purchased a 4'6"Sealy Guernsey mattress and been used now for 8 months one sleeper only. Side, back, front sleeper as osteoarthritis in knees, hips and discomfort in shoulders. 2.3cm settlement already. FIRA technician said I need support legs below central rail (slat gap 7/7.5 cm base ok). I was never told /asked what base I was using when I purchased this mattress. Can you give me your opinion as I need guidance on the matter.
Thank you.

Hi Alexandra Ferris,

Thanks for your question

Unfortunately, I can't comment on the advice you have received from FIRA,

Although based on the base you are using having a centre support rail, I would assume that this is a slatted base. This will firm up the overall support of the mattress you are using. Even with a sprung slatted base, this will still give a considerably firmer feel than say the Artisan Pocket Pocket sprung divan base.

A traditional pocket sprung divan will soften the overall support level of the mattress you are using. This may assist in providing you with additional support for your legs.

I hope this helps if you have any further questions please don't hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419
