What mattress topper would be suitable for my firm mattress
I am 5ft 9” and weigh 78kg. I suffer with arthritis (psioratic) and fibromyalgia, particularly in my hips and have pain from the hip/bursus (as I am a side sleeper) that keeps me awake and gives me a restless night.
A topper that has climate control would also be good.
Could you please advise on a suitable topper that would be going on a good quality but firm king size bed.
kind regards,
Debbie
Hi Debbie,
Thank you for your question. We always recommend a mattress topper that compliments the fibres in the upholstery layers. This will then provide a softer feel without changing how the mattress works.
As I am sure you are aware, fibromyalgia sufferers have many symptoms, and there is not one mattress that suits all. Some customers prefer a firm, supportive feel, like the Artisan Bespoke, while others want a soft, cushioning feel, similar to the Artisan Luxury. A suitable mattress should be based on your sleep positions and comfort preferences.
Natural fibres, such as wool and cotton, provide a cooler sleep surface and help regulate body temperature. The thickness of the mattress topper depends on how firm your mattress feels to you. If it only feels a little firm, a 5cm topper would suffice; however, if it is a lot too firm, a 10 cm mattress topper would be more beneficial.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
