Which matters do you recommend for sciatic and neck cervical issues?
I am looking for mattress that could relieve my sciatic and neck cervical issues and pains whiles I sleep. My weight is 56 kilos and 5 feet tall.
many thanks
Hi Rilene,
Thank you for your question. The advice used to be that anyone with back issues needed a firm mattress but this is not the case. The correct level of support is essential to allow your body to find its own level and not be forced into an unnatural position. At your height and body weight, we would pair you with the medium spring tension.
| Bodyweight | Spring tension |
|---|---|
| Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
| 16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
| Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
The comfort layers on top of the springs should be determined by your sleep positions and comfort preferences. We do not recommend firm upholstery layers for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pains in their shoulders, hips and knees. Likewise, we do not recommend soft upholstery layers for those who sleep either on their front or on their back, as sinking in too much in these positions can cause lower back and neck pain.

For Sciatica sufferers, we recommend either soft or medium upholstery layers, depending on your comfort preferences. Our most popular medium upholstery mattresses, which are suitable for all sleep positions, are the Artisan Naturals and the Origins Pocket 1500.
You can purchase Cervical Pillows from numerous retailers. These pillows are designed to support your neck no matter what your sleep position.
I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
