Origins Pocket Latex 1500 vs Dunlopillo Elite Cool Touch Supreme King Size Mattress

Thanks for placing a question via our website with regard to the Origins Pocket Latex 1500 mattress compared to the Dunlopillo Elite Cool Touch Supreme mattress.

The difference between Talalay Latex and Dunlop Latex is just the process used. Talalay Latex is a softer Latex than Dunlop which is firmer and more progressive in terms of comfort and support and is more expensive.

Latex is also much cooler and more responsive than memory foam as this type of foam requires your body heat in order to soften it down so many sleepers complain that they overheat on a memory foam mattress.

When choosing a new mattress, you need to ensure that not only do you receive the correct level of support but also the correct level of comfort.   Support is provided by the internal spring unit and is based upon heights and weights whereas comfort is provided by the upholstery layers and is usually dictated by sleeping positions.

The Dunlopillo Elite Cool Touch mattress is described as containing a layer of Talalay Latex together a layer of wool and 2340 pocket springs and is a tufted mattress providing a medium level of comfort and can only be rotated around.  It comes with a 15 year guarantee however you need to look into what this guarantee covers you for and as to what the returns policy relates to in case the mattress deems to be unsuitable for you in terms of comfort and support.

The Origins Pocket Latex 1500 again provides the sleeper with a medium level of comfort containing a wool silk pad together with two layers of Talalay Latex on top of 1500 spunbonded pocket springs.   The Talalay Latex contained within this mattress is a 60/40 mix.   Please note that the lighter the body weight, the firmer this mattress will feel.  This mattress has a flat sleeping surface and can only be rotated around.  We offer a 7 year guarantee with this mattress which is half of the guarantee for the Dunlopillo mattress however our mattress retails at £1490 for a kingsize compared to the Dunlopillo Elite which retails at £2679.00 (June 2025 Land of Beds)

We also offer each customer a no quibble 60 day love it or return it guarantee.  All we ask is that you use a mattress protector and sleep on it for at least 4 weeks as it takes this length of time for your body to adjust to a new mattress.   If after this time you are not getting along with the mattress, you simply telephone the office and we can either arrange to collect the mattress and provide a full refund or we can have a chat about swapping to a different mattress.
