Why cotton instead of waterproof protection?

For natural fibre mattresses filled with wool, cotton, cashmere, or horsehair, this trapped moisture and reduced air circulation undermines the very properties you’ve paid for. For most households without young children or specific medical needs, cotton offers superior daily protection without compromising sleep quality. If waterproofing is essential, we can recommend alternatives, but understand the trade-offs involved.

Will this fit my John Ryan mattress?

The 38cm skirt accommodates mattresses between 25-35cm deep, which covers our Origins and Artisan ranges when the protector stretches over the depth.  The full elastication helps secure the protector in place through the night.

Does quilted cotton change how my mattress feels?

Can I use this with a mattress topper?

Yes, though measure your combined mattress and topper height to ensure it falls within the 25-35cm range the 38cm skirt accommodates. The protector goes directly on your mattress, with the topper placed on top of the protector. This arrangement protects both your mattress and the underside of your topper from contamination.
