A customer asked

Hi Are the pocket sprung mattresses at Next any good?

Would they give good support?

Also, their memory foam seem to have open springs at the bottom. Would these be any good or would the pocket sprung be better?

Is 1200 pocket springs good enough for support?

Cheers, Adam .

Hi Adam,

We don't have enough information to fully advise here I'm afraid.

Spring count tends to be, a lot of the time, used as a marketing ploy. We ourselves advise that it's less about the spring count and more about the fillings as the fillings are what provide you the comfort.

We don't construct any mattress with a spring count higher than 2000 springs. Our pocket sprung mattresses containing 1000-1500 springs tend to cover medium body weights ranging from 9st to 17st so if it's in line with this then you should be fine.

Please see below for our guidelines on spring tensions;

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

However, you might be best speaking to Next direct as they will be better able to assist with queries relating to their own products.

If you do have any other queries however, please don't hesitate to contact us on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards, Lee.
