Hi,

Will you be able to deliver a king or double bed to a loft conversion room?

Hi Saba,

Thank you for your question. A high quality mattress can be very sturdy and not able to flex very much. This can make delivery to your room of choice very difficult or impossible. Our Origins range of mattresses have no flexibility whereas the Artisan range utilised a handmade pocket spring unit and can bend slightly.

Loft conversion staircase solutions for ...

A kingsize mattress measures 5 ft wide by 6 ft 6in long. If you have a staircase, the bulkhead or overhang needs at least 5 ft 2 in clearance to the steps below. A double measures 4 ft 6 in wide by 6 ft 3 in wide. If there are any tight turns that the mattress needs to get around may cause problems. If you are not sure if the mattress will fit, you could email us a video of the route the mattress will take from entering your property to your room of choice to [email protected] and we can ask our couriers to check it for you.

A lot of loft conversions require the mattress to go up 2 or 3 sets of stairs that double back on themselves. If this is the case then a zip and link mattress may be more suitable. All of our pocket sprung mattresses are available in zip and link in kingsize and above.

When looking for a new mattress you should consider your sleep positions as well as your comfort preferences. This will tell you how the upholstery layers should feel. We do not recommend firm upholstery for side sleepers as this can cause pressure pains in your shoulders and hips. Likewise, we do not recommend soft upholstery for front and back sleepers as sinking in too much in these positions can cause lower back pain.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

The spring tension should be determined by your height and body weight to provide you with the correct level of support.

I hope this helps and if you would any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact the office on0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards

Michaela
