Can I cut the buttons off my mattress?

The tufts/buttons are there to hold the threads which are inserted through the mattress to hold the upholstery layers in place and prevent undue ridging as a result of any of the upholstery coming loose. Cutting the buttons off any tufted mattress is likely to seriously compromise the product.

If you find tufts uncomfortable, there are some mattresses which do not have them and one example is our Origins Pocket Latex 1500, but before purchasing such a product you should take advice as to whether it would be suited to you. The only mattresses without tufts are those made of foam or latex.
