A customer asked

Hi, I am also after some advice please. My partner and I are looking at two single matresses in a superking frame to solve the problem of sleep disturbance. We are looking at the Simmons Choice Supreme 2000 Mattress ... what are your thoughts?

Thanks a million!

Hi Sally.

Thank you for your enquiry.  I'm sorry but we cannot find price or specification details of this particular mattress which leaves us (and you) at a loss. Being Simmons we can only assume it is going to be based on a foam/memory foam structure supported on a 2000 pocket sprung unit.  As it is not a core model from Simmons we assume also that this is an Achica promotional model.  All well and good, and probably worthy of further consideration if the price asked falls below or comparable to many other models of similar construction.

In order to compare to another mattress, details of the specifications are required.  Most manufacturers and retailers will not tell you exactly what fibres and the amounts (GSM grams per square meter) have been used in the construction of the mattress.  Not only do you not know what you are getting for your money, it makes it impossible to compare different models.  All of our mattresses have a detailed specification on the description pages.  You can use the specifications from our Origins and Artisan ranges as a guide when you are looking in showrooms.  Please bear in mind, when you try a mattress in a showroom, you do not know how long it has been on display and how many potential customers of various body weights have already softened the comfort layers.

Another thing to consider is what type of base the mattress will be going on.  A sprung base will soften the overall feel of a mattress whilst a platform base will firm up the feel.

I hope this was helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.  Our office hours are 8 am - 8 pm Monday to Friday and 10 am - 4 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Kind Regards

Michaela
