Is it possible to have a zip link super king size or extra king size bed with one pocket sprung mattress for my 100kg husband and a memory foam or hybrid one for me (60kg)

Hi Valerie,

Great to hear from you about zip together beds.

I'm afraid zip and link mattresses that zip together are only available in one form of mattress. Most of these are high-end pocket sprung models.

The reason you can't buy a zip together memory foam and traditional mattress is that they would need to be the exact same depth and also settle at the same rate, which would be impossible. What you would end up with is a one side of the mattress that would settle and behave at a completely different rate to the other.

Memory foam settles far faster than natural fibre mattresses you see. Also, memory foam mattresses are one-sided so can't be turned either. We don't sell any memory foam due to the complaints people have with it. Overheating and it dipping being the most prominent. We only sell Natural solid core latex like our Fusion range which is fully breathable.
For your bodyweights, we would recommend a Medium & firm spring tension split in a zip and link.

Have a look at our Artisan Naturals here which is a true medium feel.

If you're really keen to have a memory foam top layer it would be better for you to add a single topper of such to your side.  This is the best option given your requirements. We always advise you only add a topper after having your new mattress for 4-6 weeks which is the amount of time it usually takes to get used to a new mattress.
