choosing a mattress

Hi there - I would like to get a new mattress as am currently sleeping on a too hard IKEA mattress, with a latex topper which has not helped enough, in terms of softening. I am about 8st and usually sleep on my side and I would prefer a soft mattress, especially since I have noticed when I am travelling I sleep much better if the mattress is soft. I would prefer to get a pocket sprung natural fibre mattress, and wondering which you would recommend. Obviously I would like not to have to spend too much but if there is a big difference in quality/feel between the different mattresses I would err on the side of quality. Thanks for you help!

Hi Nicola,

Our Origins range are synthetically filled mattresses and the Artisan range have natural upholstery. Each is good in its own way, although from a longevity point of view if you can afford a naturally upholstered product, it makes sense to do so. The manufacturer's warranty for the Origins range is 2-7 years dependent upon model whereas with the Artisan range it is 5-10 years. We would expect all our products to last longer than the warranty periods provided that they are cared for in the correct manner.

Given your body weight, I would suggest that you look at the Origins Comfort 1000, which is the softest mattress in that range and has a 2-year manufacturer's warranty. If, however, your budget permits, then please view the Artisan Naturals or Artisan Bespoke 004, both of which can be made with a soft spring tension. The main difference between the two Artisan products is that the Naturals has 85% natural upholstery whilst the 004 has 100 %.

I trust that the above is of assistance to you, but if you require any further advice or guidance, please call our office.

Kind regards.
