Clearance Mattress Delivery Times

Hi,

I've found your website and advice pages extremely helpful. We are looking for a zip-link super king mattress (180x200cm). I am 6ft and weigh ~75kg and my wife is 5ft5in and weighs around 55-60kg so I think a medium tension spring would probably suit us both. We are both stomach sleepers - me straight and my wife either straight or with a leg out sideways. No health issues and both in our 30's. We are drawn to zip link as we sometimes disturb each other turning/moving, and also my wife finds even lifting the corners of our current king size mattress impossible/too heavy. We both tend to prefer a medium softness feel on the top layer but don't like too much movement/sinking from deeper layers (like to feel we are sleeping on top of the mattress if that makes sense?!), and we'd probably consider adding one of your mattress toppers, with the added benefit of disguising the mattress edges in the middle of the bed a bit.

The origins pocket 1500 or reflex 1000 look like reasonable options within our price bracket (probably up to £2000). You appear to have some of these in your clearance section and also have a clearance Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 Mattress Outlet just about in budget.

First question is will delivery for a clearance mattress be a bit quicker than the usual 4 weeks lead time if they are already made - we are quite keen to get it as soon as possible. We are in a PL9 postcode.

Secondly, are you able to offer any advice on which might be best for us, especially if we also went for a topper?

Many thanks
Kris

Hi Kris,

Thanks for contacting us via our question page regarding a superking zip & link mattress.

When selecting a new mattress, it's essential to consider both support and comfort. Support is determined by the internal spring unit and varies based on your height and weight, so a medium level of support would be suitable for you both.  Comfort, on the other hand, comes from the upholstery fillings and is influenced by your sleeping position. Since you primarily sleep on your front, opting for a medium to firm comfort level will help maintain proper spine alignment while you rest as stomach sleepers require a certain level of support, a firmer mattress is often recommended. If the mattress is too soft, your torso will sink into the mattress and start arching your spine, leading to aches, pains, and avoidable back problems. This being said, if your mattress is too firm it won’t let your spine fall into its natural curve and also cause discomfort. It’s a delicate balancing act!

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

A zip & link mattress can be designed with a medium level of support for both sections. Since these mattresses are two separate pieces that are zipped together, you won't feel the zips themselves, as they are positioned along the sides. However, you might notice the seam where the two mattresses meet. To enhance your comfort and minimize the sensation of this join, we recommend using a separate mattress topper.

The three mattresses you are considering offer varying levels of comfort. The Origins Pocket 1500 delivers a balanced medium feel, while the Origins Reflex 1000 leans towards a medium-firm comfort level. Meanwhile, the Artisan Tailored Pocket 2000 also provides a medium comfort experience.

If you anticipate needing a separate topper, it would be beneficial to select a mattress with a medium to firm comfort level, like the Origins Reflex 1000. This way, the topper won't overly soften the mattress, ensuring you maintain the desired level of comfort and support.   To begin with however, we suggest that you spend some time sleeping on the mattresses to determine if they provide the comfort and support you need. Keep in mind that it typically takes about four weeks for your body to fully adjust to a new mattress. After this adjustment period, if you find that you are still aware of the seam between the mattresses, please reach out to our office. We can assist you in selecting an appropriate topper, keeping in mind that a thinner option may be sufficient for your needs.

We do not however have the Origins Reflex 1000 superking zip & link within the Clearance Range and a new mattress could not now be delivered until early January.
