Comfortable yet supportive mattress for a side sleeper.
Hi, I'm looking for a super comfy yet supportive mattress. I'm 5'3" and 15 stone, and I have a king-size bed with a big dip in the middle!
Hi Anna,
Thank you for your enquiry.
The primary consideration when advising upon an appropriate mattress is body weight and in your particular case, this would dictate that a medium spring tension/feel is the most suitable. This is to provide the right level of support, however, as you are a side sleeper, you will require softer upholstery layers and to that end, we would suggest looking at the Origins Comfort 1000, which has a medium tension spring unit with softer man-made upholstery layers to provide the comfort. Alternatively, if your budget permits, you could look at the Artisan Luxury, which can have the spring tension selected to suit and has soft natural upholstery layers.
If you have a bed base with a dip in the centre, we would suggest that you place a barrier, usually thin (3-5mm) MDF over the base to prevent the dip affecting the new mattress as the boarding will provide a uniform surface for the mattress to rest on.
We trust that the above helps, but if you require any further advice or guidance please call our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards.
