Dreams Zen too firm?
We purchased a Dreams Zen Revitalise 5' bed 2 years ago but whilst my wife finds it gives her a good night sleep, I find it too firm and am not able to sleep too long on one side before I feel discomfort in shoulde/ hip.
Was wondering whether we should offer the bed to offspring and invest in a combination mattress.
We had Vi Spring for over 20 years before so have been probably spoilt but current prices may be too dear.
From your posts I get the impression that a combination mattress is not a good option or possibly a topper on our current bed.
.
My wife are of similar weight (12) stone but I am several inches tall so have less 'padding' re shoulders/hips.
Any suggestion would be appreciated
Hi Robert,
Thanks for your question.
Given your body weights and the fact that, in your case your height means that this is spread over a greater area and that your wife finds the firmer mattress comfortable, a combination or split tension mattress is likely to provide a solution.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
However, these mattresses are really only available in sizes King Size and above.
A tension more appropriate to you, going from what you have said is Soft with Medium being suitable for your wife.
You have not indicated what sort of base the current mattress is on or whether you intend to keep that to pair up with any new mattress and this may have a bearing on the advice given.
Please view our Artisan range some of which are comparable to some Vi-Spring models and call our office for further advice thereafter prior to placing an order.
I hope that this helps but if you have any further queries please don't hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards, Mike.
