Durability of Mattresses

Amanda

Hello,
We are looking for a new mattress. We have a memory foam; after 3 years, it has loss support. There are usually 2 adults and 2 toddlers in the bed realistically. (We like to think it will be just 2 adults and a good night's sleep). We get short sleeps, but when we do sleep, we want it to be as restful as possible. We are looking for quality and durability. What would you recommend? I am a bit put off of memory foam and am wary of latex for fear of having to replace it after just a couple years. I have heard wonderful things about both and have even slept on a latex for a time (although I felt like I was on fire). I would like to be open-minded to all options. Thank you.

Hi Amanda,

Many thanks for your enquiry.

There are a number of things that need to be taken into account when deciding upon a new mattress and the primary considerations are body weights, preferred feel and budget. Body weights will dictate the spring tension or feel of the mattress and preferred feel will guide you towards the right upholstery or comfort layers. We do not make any memory foam mattresses.

Although we do not recommend sharing the bed with children, we are aware that it does happen from time to time. For durability and comfort, you are best looking at a naturally upholstered mattress and this will also be less heat retentive and is likely to avoid you overheating during sleep. Please view the products in our Artisan range and also the Origins Pocket 1500, which has man-made upholstery and is also less heat retentive than memory foam. The Artisan range has a longer guarantee periods than the Origins range, but both are products of exceptional quality in terms of construction, upholstery and price.

Once you have viewed these products please call our office on 0161 437 4419 to provide your weight details and obtain specific advice as to the suitability of one of these products for you. Kind regards.
