Firm base
Hello, we have had our mattress for 1 year now and I am still waking up with sore hips. Up until 1 year ago we had a sprung base, but now we have a firm base, an ottoman base, this is when the problem started. someone suggested putting a mattress topper on top of our base, a memory foam one , do you think that would help please.
Many thanks

Good Morning suewhite,
Thank you for your question.
It sounds very much like the solid base has firmed up the mattress causing the pains that you're currently experiencing.
Any sprung base will soften down the feel of any mattress going on top of it whereas a solid base will always firm up the feel.
A mattress topper is ideal where you're finding a mattress too firm as it softens the feel down by adding an extra comfort layer.
One thing to bear in mind is that memory foam relies on heat retention to adapt to body movements so they do give a "hot sleep" surface.
In order to discuss the suitability of our own topper range we would need to know what type of mattress you currently have as generally you pair foam with foam, latex with latex for example.
Please don't hesitate to contact me on 0161 413 2864 to discuss this further.
Kind Regards, Lee.
