How important is it to replace bed base?

Hi. I'm interested in buying your Origins Pocket 1500 Superking mattress, but need to know how important it would be to replace our divan base?
We have had it around 7 years, and it sits directly on the floor, not on castors as it's inside an American pine bed frame, and that brings it to the right height!
It looks immaculate but I don't know how much it would still be properly supportive. We are on a tight budget so do not wish to buy a new one unless that is imperative. I weigh 10 stone 4, my husband weighs around 12 and a half stone, and we do not like memory foam, and our current mattress is way too firm. It gives both of us a weak lower back.

Thank you for your question. If your current base appears in good order even though it is 7 years old, there is no necessity to go to the extra expense of replacing it because you are purchasing a new mattress.
With your current body weights, the Origins Pocket 1500 would provide you with an overall medium feel mattress for you both. Lower back pain with no underlying condition is usually caused by incorrect spring tension. This is determined solely by an individual's body weight, both you and your husband require a medium spring tension to give you the correct support. When a mattress is too firm in the upholstery (especially for side sleepers) you may experience pressure pains in the shoulders, hips and knees.
