Hi, I think I'm suffering from the old adage "a little knowledge is a dangerous thing"!

We've been to our local bed superstore and tried several beds, and without doubt the most comfortable were the pillow tops. However, having now read through your website I realise that these can actually shorten the lifetime of the mattress. So, instead I'm considering perhaps your Origins Pocket 1500 plus a wool or latex topper; but I'm really struggling to get my head around buying different components and putting them together - it goes against years of advice of "you must spend time lying on a bed before you buy it"!

Would the Origins Pocket 1500 with a topper feel like a pocket sprung with pillow top?

How does a topper stay in place, does it not move around?

And is the Origins Pocket 1500 really half as good as the Artisan?

The Artisan is really above our budget but if it's twice as good....?

I feel confused!
