A customer asked

I am looking for a double mattress that would be suitable for a slatted bed frame. I have a chronic lower back problem. I am a side sleeper. I weigh 10.5 stone.

I do not want a mattress with latex or memory foam as my baby bed shares.

Hi Vicky

Thanks for your question,

Your sleeping habits/personal preference will then determine how you would like the mattress to feel in the comfort layers. This is where you will achieve the feel you are looking for (soft/medium/firm). Do you know if you have a preference for a soft, medium or firm?

As you have back pain and are a side sleeper this would automatically suggest that anything too firm in the upper layers would not be right for you.

If you do not, I would advise to go out and try the;
Vispring Devonshire - Soft in upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Luxury
Vispring Regal Superb - True medium in upper layers - Comparable with Artisan Bespoke 004
Vispring Herald - Firm in the upper layers - Comparable with the Artisan Bespoke

This is then to be paired with the right spring tension based on your body weight meaning a medium spring tension would be the right support for you at 10.5 stone.

As the base you are using is slatted this will alter the performance of the mattress making it a slightly firmer support level.

If you want further help it may be best to give us a call on 0161 437 4419 and we can go through the specifics such as the comfort feel you require and any other specifics.

We look forward to hearing from you.
