Mattress for antique bedframe

A customer asked

Hello, I have an antique bedframe 180 x 190 cm but it has no slats or base. I would like some advice on how to get the base made or whether I can buy something that will slot in (the frame has 2" protruding wooden supports which would hold a base). I am thinking of buying a Tempur mattress for it, would this need a specific type of base?

Many thanks. Kind regards, Missy Davies .

Hi Missy.

I have a feeling that this frame should house a complete divan set.

If the 2" protruding supports look as though they support a low level divan (off the floor) then this is exactly what it is.

The dimensions you give are not particularly standard.

It is 6'0 across (Superking width) but about 6'3 long (same length as a Double or Single) really, this should be 200cm long.

You can get this size made to order but be ready to add on a further 10% or more depending on the model,  for the special size requirements.

Kind Regards Gary
