Mattress for different body weights
Hello, I'm in the market for a new mattress and I stumbled upon your incredibly informative site!
I was wondering what spring tension you would suggest for me and my husband: I am 53 kg, while my husband weighs 82 kg. I generally prefer firmer feeling mattresses---I'm not a big fan of that sinking-in feeling. My husband prefers medium/firm.
Hi Cynthia,
For your weight, we would recommend a soft spring tension and a medium for your husband to give you both the correct level of support. This is achievable in either a dual mattress-guide/" title="spring">spring one piece mattress or the zip and link option. Both options are only available in king size and above.
Bodyweight | Spring tension |
---|---|
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg | Medium (1.4mm) |
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards | Firm (1.6mm) |
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) | Soft (1.2mm) |
Only our Artisan range are available with the soft spring tension. The Artisan 1500 which has 53% natural fibres, is the firmest medium in the comfort layers. I would also recommend looking at the Origins Pocket Reflex 1000 as you said you prefer a firmer mattress. This mattress has a medium spring tension, which will feel firmer for yourself at your body weight, it also has firmer upholstery layers.
I hope this was helpful and if you would like to discuss the suitability of any of our mattresses please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
