The first thing to understand is that pocket springs can be soft, medium or firm and are body weight dependent as detailed in the article attached.

Thesprings/"> gauge of wire is adjusted and to achieve the firmer springs the gauge of the wire is thicker than it would be to achieve a soft spring, so we suppose the answer to your question is yes, although how you manage to achieve this with one spring is a mystery.

You can have a mattress that a medium spring, but firmer upholstery layers.
