Memory foam giving me a lot of pain

A customer asked

I want to replace a 10" deep memory foam mattress, which is giving me a lot of body pain. The mattress sits on a slatted frame, so reading your advise this would need to be boarded.
The body weights of the occupants are 12st and 16st. I am looking for a soft yet supportive mattress. I like the look of the Artisan 002 £1735. Do you think this would be appropriate for our needs and this type of bedstead?

Hi Alison,

The Artisan Bespoke 002 king size in a medium tension should be fine for you both, offering support from the spring unit with comfort being afforded by the deep layers of natural upholstery.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

You are correct in your assumption that you ought to board your base with 3-5mm MDF and this will make the mattress feel slightly firmer.

If you are in any doubt, please do not hesitate to call our office to discuss your requirements in detail and obtain more specific advice as to the suitability of this product for you.

Kind Regards Gary
