Hello,

We are looking to get a new Superking zip & link mattress (one side medium, one firm) and after trying some in person the Flaxby in the title seemed to match our tastes in comfort.

For reference I'm 1.88cm and 103kg preferring firm/very firm mattresses and my partner is 1.72cm and 70kg preferring medium.

I was curious if you had recommendations for us using that mattress as reference.

Hi Rinaldo,

Thank you for your question.

Looking at the Flaxby Master Guild 16150, this mattress has a medium level of comfort in the upholstery layers which are 100% natural fibres. These upholstery layers are very breathable and will help to regulate your body temperature. It has different layers on each side of the mattress for the 'seasons'. Wool will wick away heat and moisture quicker than any other fibre. There are no GSMs given for these fibres. It is a handmade Harison Spinks mattress with 4 rows of side stitching for edge support and has a depth of 28 cm.

This mattress contains 15400 micro HD springs which we do not use within our mattresses as they offer nothing in support but take up space where more luxurious upholstery layers could be. This leaves 750 main springs within the mattress. At your heights and weights, the firm spring tension will provide you with the correct level of support and the medium spring tension will provide your partner with the correct level of support.

Bodyweight Spring tension
Upto 16 Stone / 50-101kg Medium (1.4mm)
16 Stone / 101kg Upwards Firm (1.6mm)
Available in Bespoke Products (Please Call) Soft (1.2mm)

Our closest mattress in feel would be the Artisan Bespoke 004 which contains 3600 gsm of natural fibres in the medium feel upholstery layers. This handmade mattress has 2 rows of hand side stitching for edge support and a depth of between 27 - 30 cm. The depth can vary due to the different batches of fibres having different densities. This mattress has 1600 handmade calico pocket springs (spring counts are given for kingsize) which are available in both medium and firm spring tensions.

It is not possible to make a zip and link mattress with different levels of comfort. We can only change the level of support within the mattress, not the upholstery layers. If we used different fibres on each side of the mattress they would be different depths and would settle at different rates.

I hope this helps and if you would like any further information or would like to discuss your individual needs, please do not hesitate to contact our office on 0161 437 4419.

Kind Regards
Michaela
