My new Simba mattress is to tight in my bed frame, any advice?
I recently purachased a new matttress (king size Simba). I have a leather bed frame from Dreams and my old mattress was from Dreams too. I do not ever remember struggling to make my bed. However, now I feel the new mattress is to tight on the bed frame and I catch my hands whilst trying to lift the mattress slightly to tuck in the sheets. I am finding this very irritating.I measured my bed frame and it is 152 cm. The widest part of the mattress is the same.Have you heard of this problem before? I suppose I'm worried another mattress might be just as tight if I do purchase a new one and wonder if I should bite the bullet and buy a divan (I see there are more modern ones available now). I am also not convince I like the flatness of the Simba mattress so I am considering returning it.
Hi Lynn,
Thank you for your enquiry. There is an industry variation tolerance of +/- 2 cm on the standard size of a mattress. This means that when you purchase a new mattress it may be 2 cm wider than your bed frame and still be a king size mattress. The only way to guarantee exact measurements is a bespoke option which would come at a premium and would not be covered under our 60 day love it or return it guarantee.
Purchasing a new base would eliminate the problem. For your Simba mattress, we would recommend a platform base, which we have 3 different options, for extra storage the Ottoman base is ideal and our Origins Platform base and the Contemporary Platform base have different drawer options. If you were to purchase a pocket sprung mattress, our Artisan sprung base would soften the overall feel and help prolong the lifespan of your mattress.
I hope this is helpful and if you would like any further information please do not hesitate to contact the office on 0161 437 4419.
Kind Regards
Michaela
