Need a new mattress - help

Hi
We've had the same mattress for over 12 years.... too long, I know.
Everyone is talking about memory foam but I'm worried about the heat and being a classic pocket sprung vi sprung kinda person, I'm nervous as this is our first mattress but for so long.
