Needing a high up mattress and base for suitcase storage

We are looking for a superking divan bed and would like to add some kind of iron/brass headboard if we cannot find an actual iron frame divan bed. I have been looking but can only find either slatted bases or really cheap and nasty ones. Our budget is probably a max of 4000ish - husband would love it to be lower!
Our present bed is fine but only 4'6" and has always been too small - hence the decision to go large! What we love is that our bed is high - room to put suitcases underneath - but also a divan base. In a perfect world we would love something similar but realise this may not be possible.
We tried various Vi-spirng beds today. Several we couldn't tell apart - but I did find the medium Kingsbridge extremely comfortable - and then heard the price! Also liked the Devonshire - but have no idea about all wool?
We have only ever had springs/" title="pocket spring">pocket spring and would like to stay with what we know. I also would like only natural fibres as find it much cooler. Weight for both of us is between 12 and 14 stone - and oddly, since I'm the one with a bad back - my husband prefers a firmer bed. Some of the medium ones we tried today he found "too bouncy!"
Not stuck necessarily on vi-spring - today was our first outing, and was to 'and so to bed' who recommended them.
